This month we have some new play areas! We are still doing Junk Art and relaxing in the Quiet Corner but we are now playing 'The Vets' and with the blocks. We play in a different area everyday and on Fridays we get to pick where we play!

Junior Infants 2012/2013
It has been very busy in Junior Infants this year! They have all settled in very well and are having great fun learning new things!
We are using 'Aistear' as a method of teaching this year and it is going exceptionally well. The children are so engaged and excited with each day and are learning in an environmen that suits them best!
It uses four different play areas that four groups take turns playing in each day and then on Fridays they get to pick where they play. Last term we used the play areas- Junk Art, Role Play, Playdough and Construction. The Construction area was then changed to Sand and then the Quiet Area. This term they are using Water. It is so important to talk to the children about what they have done each day as each area is developing their motor skills, oral language, maths skills, social skills... the list goes on! Here are some photos of us playing in our different play areas last term- more photos to follow! Watch this space!

Museum of Natural History
Junior Infants went on a trip to the Museum of Natural History last Thursday and saw some amazing things!
We saw lions, tigers, monkeys and many other animals including a giant Fin Whale!
We had a picnic and then headed to our next museum where we saw pots, gold and jewellery from many years ago.
We finished our trip with a visit to the bandstand, water fountains and playground in St. Stephen's Green.
It was a fun-filled learning experience.
Take a look for yourself! :)
Protest March
Junior Infants would like to thank all those who turned out to our protest march against budget cuts to our school. It was a great success and we're hoping it will make a difference.
Many thanks!

We Went to the Phoenix Park!
Junior Infants went to the Phoenix Park this term to look for signs of Autumn.
We saw real pumpkins, Autumn animals and fallen leaves and acorns.
We visited the walled gardens, the 'magic tree' and we even saw some deer!
Everyone had a great time, we hope you like our pictures!
